Publication Forecasting International Tourist Arrivals in Cambodia Using Holt-Winters Methods(CamEd Business School, December 30, 2017) Mara MongThe ability to forecast something is what most people wish. The prediction of tourist time series data is very important in tourism management. There are many methods developed to analyze and forecast univariate time series. This study is mainly focused on forecasting quarterly international tourist arrivals in Cambodia. Holt-Winters method with additive and multiplicative seasonality is used. Diagnostic checking reveals that both models are appropriate but based mean absolute percentage error(MAPE), the model with additive seasonality is better and hence, chosen. keywords: Tourist arrivals; Holt-Winters’ method; seasonality; trend; ACF; MAPE; Ljung-Box test; augmented Dickey-Fuller test; forecast.Publication Importance of Math and Difficulties in Learning Perceived by Cambodian Grade 10 and 11 students(CamEd Business School, November 30, 2021) Mara MongMath is an important subject for other fields of sciences and useful for solving real-world problems. But there seems to be a decline in the attention towards this subject, also including Cambodian context. It is necessary explore the causes behind this issue and to promote the learning of this subject. In this paper, the researcher uses a sample from existing data obtained from grade 10 and 11 Cambodian students of public secondary schools in 2019 to analyze students’ perceptions of how they know the importance of Math and perceptions of the obstacles/difficulties in learning the subject using principle component analysis. Findings reveal three components/variables, two of which are obstacle-related, and another is of sources of knowledge of math importance. The analysis of data also includes testing the difference in perceptions of rural-school students and urban-school students over the obstacles/difficulties of learning math and the sources of knowledge of math importance, using Mann-Whitney U test. The results show no different perceptions over the sources of knowledge of math importance but significant difference in perceptions over the obstacles of learning math. They are gaining employments in record numbers with business organizations in both public and private sector in Cambodia due to its recent robust economic growth experienced by many different sectors: tourism and hospitality; consultancy services; manufacturing/industry; transport and logistics; consumer goods and retail; and of course, banking and finance. Our study examines the qualities and skills of currently employed accounting and finance graduates, exploring the perceptions and viewpoints of numerous private-sector employers. A hundred and fifteen (115) local companies (both small and large scale companies depending on the number of accountants employed), some with international ownership across more than 15 sectors; one-third of them SMEs who have been present in Cambodia for at least the past 4 years, and all in the private sector were investigated using a comprehensive self-reported questionnaire “Khmer accounting graduate quality questionnaire”. The research was prompted by a perceived gap between the qualities and skills possessed by the graduate employees under small scale private organizations and the graduate employees under a large scale private organizations. Data collected were analyzed using the Mann-Whitney U test and the Kruskal-Wallis test followed by multiple comparisons of the perceptions of large and small scale private business enterprises with IBM SPSS 21. The result shows that of the three researched questions, there is no significant difference in perception between large and small scale businesses in all the criteria in the first and third research questions, but there is a significant difference in perception in two of the criteria (Oral and written communications in Chinese) under the second research questions. It is worth noting though that out of all the criteria in the first question “Awareness of global accounting and economics” ranked the least quality by both small and large scale organizations’ perception of their employees. These research findings are expected to benefit all stakeholders, including policymakers on matters that enhance the employability and productivity of accountants in Cambodia. This paper will examine the relationship between first year students’ achievement in statistics and quantitative mathematics and English language grades they earned in grade-12 national exam. The effect of how they live (whether students live with their family or not with their family (independently)) on the achievement in statistics is also investigated. Pearson correlation coefficient and t-test comparing two means were employed. The findings suggest that mathematics grade and English language grade statistically correlate with statistics score but the difference in statistics score for the students living with their family and those not living with their family is not statistically significant, that is, whether the students live with their family or living independently does not affect their achievement in statistics I.
